According to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, on Friday, September 8, a 14-year-old girl named Mahya Naderi was murdered by her cousin with a shotgun in Sarpol Zahab, Kermanshah province.
It is said that this murder was committed with the knowledge of Mahya's father and because of "her romantic relationship with a boy and her running away from home."

SFI also aims to raise awareness and advocate for policy reforms to prevent and respond to femicides in Iran.
