Iran: women victims of domestic violence and the law

“Marjan Keypour Greenblatt, director of the Alliance for the Rights of All Minorities in Iran (ARAM) and initiator of the StopFeminicide Iran platform, which records Iranian victims of feminicide, is not surprised by this shortcoming on the part of the state. 'The government itself has proven to be both incapable and unwilling to change any rules that would guarantee rights and protections for women. There have been proposals to amend existing laws, but legislation after legislation, proposal after proposal, every single one has been rejected, delayed, or refused,' she says indignantly.”
