On Tuesday, February 5, 2024, a 27-year-old man entered his uncle's house in the village area of Abadan and murdered his 47-year-old aunt with a knife. According to Rokna website, this young man had initially clashed with his aunt on the street near their house. Then he entered his uncle's house, where neighbors were also present, and killed his aunt.
The accused, after introducing himself, cited "previous property disputes" with his uncle's family as the reason for the altercation and his excuse for murdering the 47-year-old woman.

StopFemicideIran's mission is to combat femicide in Iran through a three-prong approach: documentation, education, and empowerment. SFI monitors and documents femicide cases, educates the public and human rights activists, and empowers grassroots organizations to advocate for women's rights. SFI also aims to raise awareness and advocate for policy reforms to prevent and respond to femicides in Iran.
