Halimeh Habibollahi, a young woman from Izeh and a victim of child marriage and forced marriage, endured years of physical violence from her husband before being killed in Bandar Abbas. Following her death, it was alleged that she had committed suicide by hanging herself.

According to Hengaw, Halimeh, a 22-year-old mother of two originally from Izeh and residing in a village in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, was murdered under suspicious circumstances. The claim that she hung herself from a gas pipe was dismissed by sources close to the case, who argued that the scenario was physically impossible and part of a deliberate attempt to conceal her murder.

Sources pointed out that it would not have been feasible for Halimeh to hang herself from a one-meter gas pipe, considering her physical attributes. These sources further stated that she was repeatedly subjected to physical violence by her husband, making it likely that he was responsible for her death.

Reports indicate that Halimeh’s husband recently took her and their two children to Bandar Abbas, purportedly to visit his sister. Just a few days later, on the morning of Friday, November 22, he reported that Halimeh had committed suicide by hanging herself from a gas pipe valve.

Relatives rejected this account, calling it a fabricated story to cover up the murder. They cited her history of ongoing abuse, noting that her husband subjected her to severe violence throughout their marriage. This abuse was so extreme that even her father-in-law refused to leave Halimeh alone with his son.

During her teenage years, Halimeh had been in a relationship with a boy, which her family disapproved of when they discovered it. She was subsequently forced to marry her cousin, Ashkan Habibollahi. Throughout their marriage, she faced continuous physical abuse and violence, leaving her in a vulnerable and dangerous situation until her death.
