Fatemeh Badeli, a 35-year-old mother of two, was murdered in Kordkuy County by her husband, Mehdi Chaplia, who struck her in the head with an axe and a brick in front of their two children. She was buried on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Fatemeh was a victim of child marriage.Fatemeh Badeli had decided to divorce her husband due to his drug addiction and family issues and had returned to her parents’ home some time ago. On the day of the incident, she went back to her house to collect her personal belongings when an argument broke out between her and her husband. He then murdered her in front of their children. The perpetrator fled the scene after committing the crime and has not yet been arrested.

StopFemicideIran's mission is to combat femicide in Iran through a three-prong approach: documentation, education, and empowerment. SFI monitors and documents femicide cases, educates the public and human rights activists, and empowers grassroots organizations to advocate for women's rights. SFI also aims to raise awareness and advocate for policy reforms to prevent and respond to femicides in Iran.
