On 25 August 2025, a 44-year-old man in Haft-Hovz Road, Mashhad, killed his 41-year-old wife using a firearm and then committed suicide with the same weapon. The motive was reported to be a dispute over the dowry and the wife’s legal complaint. Investigations revealed that the man had previously practiced shooting. The couple had two young children.
