Unnamed woman
Age: Young
Murdered: July 8, 2024
Residence: Qom
Perpetrator: Husband
Excuse: Family disputes
On Monday, July 8, 2024, a young woman was killed by her husband in Qom, and then her body was set on fire. The killer's motive for committing the crime was reported by state media as "family disputes."
The burned body of the young woman was discovered on the side of a rural road in Buin Zahra County, Qazvin Province. According to the Imna news agency, a shepherd encountered the burned and unidentifiable body of a woman on the road between the villages of Parkam and Shadmahan in the Dashtabi district of Buin Zahra County.
Initial investigations revealed that the victim had been killed elsewhere and burned at that location to erase evidence of the crime and prevent identification. The killer was arrested in Qom Province on another charge.

We are pleased to announce the release of our 2024 report, titled "Stop Violence Against Women and Girls." This report sheds light on the harrowing reality of femicide in Iran, where approximately one woman is killed every other day simply for being a woman.
StopFemicideIran's mission is to combat femicide in Iran through a three-prong approach: documentation, education, and empowerment. SFI monitors and documents femicide cases, educates the public and human rights activists, and empowers grassroots organizations to advocate for women's rights. SFI also aims to raise awareness and advocate for policy reforms to prevent and respond to femicides in Iran.
