On July 20, 2024, a man named Masoud killed his ex-wife, Masumeh Asadbeigi, in front of her workplace, a clothing boutique, by stabbing her. The couple had been divorced for 13 years. After fleeing the scene, Masoud attempted suicide in the Pasdaran area of Tehran on July 24 but was arrested. In his interrogation, the suspect stated, "I killed her because she wouldn't allow me to see my children."
