On March 11, 2024, a young woman identified as Ziba Sayadi, 27 years old, was shot and killed by her ex-husband on one of the streets in Urmia. The woman had divorced her husband, who was also her cousin, 10 days earlier due to disagreements.
It is said that the alleged murderer, named Jalal Sayai, left the scene after committing the murder and is currently on the run.
