On Wednesday, April 30, 2025 , a 24-year-old woman named Mahroo Tondpour was shot and killed with a handgun by her suitor in front of Yasuj University of Medical Sciences, inside a pharmacy. The killer attempted suicide after committing the crime.The perpetrator, identified as 25-year-old Alireza Vesal Mofrad, a maternal relative and suitor of Mahroo, shot himself in the head after the murder and was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. According to informed sources, the young woman was killed because she had rejected a marriage proposal from the suitor, who was also her relative.
