On May 19, 2024, a woman named Arezoo Hassani was tragically killed by her husband in Eyvan-e Gharb (Eyvan), a district of Ilam province, due to motives of honor. Arezoo was murdered in a shocking manner with 100 stab wounds inflicted by her husband.
The alleged murderer, identified as 40-year-old Javad Jafari, has turned himself in to the authorities.
