On April 25, 2024, a young woman named Sajedeh, 23 years old and from the village of Kooreh, Mashhad, was killed by her 17-year-old brother, motivated by honor, her family attempted to cover up the cause of her death by claiming it was natural.
The murderer, identified as Hanzaleh, confessed after his arrest, stating that: "After Sajedeh divorced her husband, she was dishonored by people, and for this reason, to prevent disgrace, I strangled my sister in a rural stable."

StopFemicideIran's mission is to combat femicide in Iran through a three-prong approach: documentation, education, and empowerment. SFI monitors and documents femicide cases, educates the public and human rights activists, and empowers grassroots organizations to advocate for women's rights. SFI also aims to raise awareness and advocate for policy reforms to prevent and respond to femicides in Iran.
