A 42-year-old woman in the Abbas Abad neighborhood in Tehran was killed by her husband in so-called honor killing on October 10, 2023. The husband of this young woman claimed that his motive for killing his wife was issues of honor and her relationship with another person. The murderer killed his wife with a knife. It is worth mentioning that the murderer was arrested by the police after injuring another man who claimed to be in a relationship with his wife.

StopFemicideIran's mission is to combat femicide in Iran through a three-prong approach: documentation, education, and empowerment. SFI monitors and documents femicide cases, educates the public and human rights activists, and empowers grassroots organizations to advocate for women's rights. SFI also aims to raise awareness and advocate for policy reforms to prevent and respond to femicides in Iran.
