A middle-aged woman was shot dead by her son in Tehran. After the arrest, the young man confessed to murdering his mother and another man at their home in Tehran, labeling his motive for this act as an 'honor killing.'
He wrote, 'I killed them because they had betrayed my father.' His mother was 32 years younger than his father, had three children, and despite her request for a divorce, the father had not agreed to accept his wife's request. Considering their age difference, the possibility of her being a child bride cannot be ruled out.

SFI also aims to raise awareness and advocate for policy reforms to prevent and respond to femicides in Iran.
