A woman was stabbed to death by her husband in so-called honor killing in Kahnuj, Kerman Province. The alleged murderer on the pretext of his wife's infidelity, which has not been proven yet.
After going with her to the mountains around Zarchin, killed her with multiple stabs and burned her body. She is the 13th woman who was killed in this way by her relatives in Kohnuj.
In Iran, a man can argue as a defense to murder that his wife was unfaithful. Iranian law is based on Sharia law, which is known to be woman-unfriendly. This defense tactic can result in a prison sentence of up to 3 years.

StopFemicideIran's mission is to combat femicide in Iran through a three-prong approach: documentation, education, and empowerment. SFI monitors and documents femicide cases, educates the public and human rights activists, and empowers grassroots organizations to advocate for women's rights. SFI also aims to raise awareness and advocate for policy reforms to prevent and respond to femicides in Iran.
