On September 13, a 40-year-old woman in Tehran was stabbed to death by her husband. The suspect was arrested shortly afterward and attributed his motive for this act to addiction and family disputes. The son of this couple stated, "We were living in one of the school rooms, and my mother was a janitor. My father, who is addicted, came home a few hours ago to have lunch, but suddenly a severe argument erupted between them. My mother tried to escape, but my father chased her with a knife, and on the stairs, he knocked her down with knife strikes, ultimately leaving the crime scene after putting on his shoes.
