Ayla Pasdar
Age: 15
Shot to death: May 2, 2024
Residence: Izeh, Khuzestan
Perpetrators: Brother, uncle, cousin
Excuse: Disputes
Ayla Pasdar, 15, was killed by her 18-year-old brother with the help of her uncles at the home of a relative. On Thursday, May 2, 2024, 15-year-old Ayla Pasdar, a resident of Izeh, was shot and killed by her 18-year-old brother, assisted by her uncle and cousin, at a relative’s house. Her death certificate states the cause of death as "skull and brain tissue damage due to a gunshot wound to the head."
According to informed sources, Ayla was a victim of forced child marriage at the age of 11 and divorced at 15. She had been continuously subjected to physical violence and beatings and was repeatedly threatened with death by her uncle, brother, and cousins under various pretexts.
The source also revealed that these individuals had previously attempted to kill Ayla by beheading her, but neighbors intervened and prevented the act. In another attempt, they tried to poison her and tied her hands and feet with chains to kill her. However, she was taken to a hospital by those around her and survived.
It is worth mentioning that Ayla had fled with a boy but was arrested by the police and returned home. At one point, social welfare officers took her to Ahvaz as an abused minor, intending to transfer her to a care facility, but due to the objections of her uncles and brother, she was sent back home.
Eventually, despite multiple previous attempts on her life and her brother’s confession, Ayla was fatally shot by him. Her uncles were released from prison on bail after their arrest, while her brother and cousin remain in custody. During an attempt to kill the boy who had fled with Ayla, an elderly man was mistakenly murdered.
Ayla Pasdar was ultimately buried without any ceremony or commemoration in Akbarabad Cemetery, far from where her other relatives are laid to rest.
