In January of this year, a 32-year-old woman in Maragheh was strangled to death by her husband at her workplace in a concrete block factory using a scarf. The 36-year-old perpetrator had taken his wife to his workplace and killed her. He later turned himself in to the police and stated that "family disputes" were his motive for the murder.
