On August 4, 2024, a young woman in Ferdowsieh, Shahriar, was severely injured in the head, face, and neck and killed by her husband during an argument inside his car by being struck against the car's pillar. After killing his wife, the killer abandoned her body by the roadside and attempted to flee, but he lost consciousness. The police found a middle-aged man inside his car and then arrested him. The suspect stated that his motive for killing his wife was "family disputes" due to his addiction to drugs.

SFI also aims to raise awareness and advocate for policy reforms to prevent and respond to femicides in Iran.
