On May 4, 2024, a 24-year-old woman in Mashhad was stabbed to death by her husband with 24 knife wounds, allegedly due to honor-related motives. The murder took place on Khwaja Rabie Boulevard, where the perpetrator also severely injured his 16-year-old sister-in-law and his brother-in-law with knife wounds. The murdered woman's sister is currently in a coma. The suspect, after being arrested, stated that the motive for this act was family disputes and honor-related issues.
