On Sunday, June 23, 2024, Nermin Pirhaman, a mother of two, was brutally killed by her husband, identified as Heshmat Kalaei, in Sanandaj (Saneh), under the pretext of "honor preservation." She was stabbed multiple times in front of the notary office in the city.
The victim had come to the location at her husband's request to finalize a divorce. Between Madar Square and Siros Street, she was attacked and killed with 20 knife stabs. The perpetrator has been arrested and cited "family disputes" as his motive for the crime.
