On Thursday, April 4, 2024, a 55-year-old woman named Talat, who lived in Tehran, was thrown into a well and killed by her husband in the farmlands of Varamin. On October 7, her killer was sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to pay blood money.
According to Khorasan newspaper, the 63-year-old man, identified as Asghar (last name unknown), turned himself in to the police following the incident and initially confessed to pushing his wife into the well, causing her death. However, during his trial, Asghar altered his story, claiming that he suspected his wife of having a relationship with their male neighbor. He alleged that after taking her to the farmland in Varamin, she sprained her ankle, fell into the well, and died.
